The teacher training course is directed by Tessa Marwick and Paul Versteeg, who qualified from the Constructive Teaching Centre (London) in 1983 and 1984. The course is officially recognised and operates within the guidelines set down by the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (STAT) and Nederlandse Vereniging van Leraren in de F.M. Alexander-Techniek (NeVLAT).


* A three year training course with a minimum of 1600 hours tuition.
* There are three terms per year. Each term consists of three blocks of three or four weeks, with a week's break between each block. There are approximately 32 weeks training per year.
*The course time-table runs Monday-Friday from 9:15 - 12:45 each week day.
*On satisfactory completion of the course a certificate is awarded authorising thegraduate to teach the Alexander Technique and become eligible to be a teaching member of STAT and/or NeVLAT.
*At the discretion of the directors there is a possibility to do a post graduate teaching term at the training course.
*Tuition is in both English and Dutch.

Entry to Programme

There are no formal requirements. Applicants must have had Alexander lessons for some time before applying. Applicants are invited to visit the course for one or more days which may be followed by an interview and/or private lessons with one or both of the directors.


Tuition Fees

The fees are per January 2006 6.900, euros per annum, to be paid either at the start of each year or 2.300 euros, on the first day of each term.
The fees remain the same throughout the 3 years.


Location

The training course takes place on the top floor of a classic 'grachten' house overlooking the canal, in the old part of Amsterdam. It is close to Central Station and easily accessible by
tram nr. 1, 2 or 5 (three stops to Spui).



In addition to the training programme Paul Versteeg and Tessa Marwick also arrange courses and introductory
evenings throughout the year for the general public and groups with specific interests, and give individual and
private lessons on a day to day basis.
